Project Overview

Spotlight Magazine is a 10-page publication that spotlights local Ann Arbor artists and celebrates their creativity. It features five artists, including jewelry designers and a DJ, as well as the LA-based intimates brand Honeydew Intimates, presenting their work through cohesive visual storytelling, editorial layouts, photography, and typography for the University of Michigan campus community.

The Artists

We came together to create a mood board that shows how we wanted to portray the brands and their visual identities. By exploring aesthetic elements such as color palette, style, and perspective, we developed an idea of how we would illustrate the works in relation to the artist.

Step Two: Create Mood Boards

After creating the mood boards, we went to the studio to test photo styles and backgrounds and get comfortable with photography. We played around with positions and subjects to conceptualize and use for the brands.
